About the Designer:

Asher Ibana is the founder and lead designer of Realo. A creative apparel brand that aims to elevate the D.I.Y. culture in the Philippines. He believes that fashion should be intimate, personal, and most importantly, artistic. Everyone should be able to experience creating and rock a garment that is uniquely their own. The brand’s namesake came from his late grandmother Preciosa Realo Florentino, who was a major influencer and motivator toward his interest and eventual pursuit in the field of fashion. Crochet was an especially memorable and fulfilling experience with his grandmother inspiring him to share it to everyone through his works.

The inspirations behind his designs are derived from different art forms, cultural appreciation, and his surroundings. Using patterns and colors to balance artistry with wearability. With each piece, the designer wants to confide in you that fashion is what you make of it, and that you should be able to play with it.

Realo is a playground for textile design that offers accessible crochet equipment and materials for the creatives looking to construct their own perfectly unique garment. It is more than just an apparel brand, it offers new experiences and an avenue to appreciate crochet through various forms. Each stitch, square, and triangle is handmade and unique allowing customers to experiment, tinker, and play around with the various combinations of colors, sizes, and motifs giving everyone an opportunity to feel confident, comfortable, and real with their Realo clothing.
